Happy New Year everyone! One month into 2021 and we have all learned so much already! Have you set your resolutions and failed some already? If yes, that's ok! I have, too! This year, instead of focusing on how I can improve and excel beyond the given circumstances, I’ve realized God wants me to just BREATHE. He wants me to let go, rest, trust in His works, and just breathe. This is my focus word for the year and I hope you will join me in setting aside some time to reflect on what God has been doing and continues to do in our own lives and in the lives of our youth.

This month at City Life, we started off our Virtual City Life program (VCL) which runs every other Thursday evening and is led by our Student Leaders and Interns. We gathered virtually on our Discord server and talked about rest and the power of the Holy Spirit when we give ourselves space to rest. Shout out to my new Executive Director, John Reid, for the inspiration and nugget of wisdom he shared with me on this!

We played games, shared important announcements, gave each other shout outs and encouragement, and broke out into small groups. It was refreshing and encouraging to see the ideas and hard work my Interns and SL’s put into this come to life and to see them interact with their peers who joined. I’m excited for the conversations to come out of our VCL and the opportunity of growth in leadership for our SL’s and Interns.

PRAY

  • Praise God for what is doing in Monroe and for the community members who support our ministry.
  • Join us in praying over each students' family: favor in the parents' work, finances, food supply, and family relationships.
  • Pray for wisdom, patience, and guidance as we navigate and adjust what ministry looks like the rest of this year.
