Fall Warmth - Vasti’s Prayer Update

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” - Psalm 119:105

I kicked-off City Life for the 2020/2021 school year with hope and gratitude, but also worry. I was worried that students would check out because of how mentally draining school has been. I was worried that without a consistent space to meet in weekly, parents and students would become impatient with all the change. I had to get creative and find new ways where it was still possible for us to meet in small groups. God has silenced my worry with his faithfulness to provide for us as we continue to navigate COVID-19 restrictions.

Every Wednesday, enthusiastic students continue to show up despite us meeting outside in cold, rainy weather. The unity amongst our group makes us all feel the warmth and see past the inconvenience of not meeting in a church building. I love my students. They ignite my passion for Jesus!

This month we got lost in a corn maze, had a "Fear Factor" party, and carved pumpkins. For many of our students, City Life gives them the opportunity to experience activities like these for the first time.

I am grateful for our volunteers who have provided snacks every other Monday for our students so have something to munch on through out the week as they do their best to stay focused on school.

I am grateful for the immense support that our student leaders continue to provide. In the months to come, I will be highlighting them individually. However, if you want to get a sneak peak of who they are please make sure to RSVP for Stories of Light, our virtual event, happening this Friday, October 30th at 7pm.
